creativity 101 is an introductory email-course for tapping into your creative genius.
eventually i do want to bring some of my more advanced and in-depth creativity workshops online – with virtual classrooms so that everyone can get to know each other and have that close-knit lovey-dovey creative community as a support system for rich creative self-exploration. so as i am getting started on creating that creativity incubator classroom space i am noticing how important it is to know that you are not in this alone.
and you are not. there are loads of you, all around the world, discovering, exploring and empowering your creative geniuses. so i wanted to help everyone get to know each other and hear a bit about each other’s experiences. this can be so helpful when it comes to exploring new creative territory! knowing that others are having similar experiences helps to ground you in your experience and really receive all of the amazing gifts of opening up to your creative genius.

this week i’ve been thinking a lot about having a plan. about looking at where we are and where we want to be and what’s in the way and how to we get around what’s in the way.
because i do believe in positive thinking and magic and all this but i also believe in making plans, being practical and “git’n'r done”.
and when we bring this all together – creativity, magic, intuition, wisdom, practicality and plan-making – watch out!
that’s powerful stuff.
i do a creative visioning workshop about this and earlier in the year i made an e-workbook that people could buy and download to do this work on their own at home.
this week i finished re-writing (totally simplified + improved) the workbook and then turned it into a super-fantastic and magically powerful kit by creating a series of guided meditations to go with it.
so i have been spending my time immersed in this energy of combining dreaming and possibility and magic with bravery and planning and doing. {read the full article}

i have mentioned here that i am participating in jamie ridler’s circe’s circle this summer. one thing that came of our work so far is a commitment i am making to explore new ways to nurture my creative energy and be more consistent about actually doing those things that nurture me.

this weekend i am doing a healing circle workshop and i wanted to expand this healing energy out into this circle of creative dreamers.
as we move towards greater healing, which for me means moving towards a greater recognition of our inherent wholeness, we also tend to move towards our dreams. and vice versa, stepping into our dreams is often a healing experience. {read the full article}

healing: relax into it
i am facilitating a healing circle workshop this weekend. what i want to do with this is create a space where we can all relax into our own healing experience.
so healing is on my mind this week. and when i think of healing what i think of is:
- a luxurious and pampering spa experience
- being in nature
- feeling at ease in my body and in my life
- a sense of renewal
- transformational workshops
- a cup of tea and an afternoon with my art journal
- noticing the way the sun streams through the trees in the mornings
- letting go
ahhhh. the healing is in the letting go.
and the letting go opens up to
- knowing that i am going to be ok no matter what
- knowing that i am loved no matter what
- knowing that all is well
absolute relief.
just in writing this out, it feels like a healing has occurred.

i talk a lot about comfort zones. they are so fascinating to me. it’s like we build these little boxes to live in to stay small and safe but then we slowly discover that when we make our lives small and safe we are not just keeping danger out – we are keeping our dreams and our heart’s desires out. and then the comfort zone starts to become less comfortable.
right now i’m at the part where my comfort zone is actually miserably uncomfortable. i feel like i have outgrown it in every way that it can be outgrown. like alice in wonderland (omg i loved the movie and her clothes especially!) this room is too damn small and my muscles are aching from being cramped in here. literally. i am sore. so i booked some time at my favourite spa – but i couldn’t get in until friday. what to do until ten?

last week’s creative dreaming was all about knowing that we deserve all good things and i hope you all had a change to work with the affirmation meditation about deserving all good things.
it’s so important that we believe this. so so so so so so so so so important.
i feel like i could go on and on and on explaining why this is important but if you listen to the meditation, really listen and get into it and be present with the affirmations – you’ll see and feel and experience how important this is.
not feeling like we deserve it is one of the biggest things that keeps us from living our dreams.
and with affirmation meditations, the more you listen the more you benefit. and so:
