free creative journaling workshop is an ongoing creativity workshop that i will be posting here on my blog. you are welcome to join in at any time and follow along at your own pace. for complete workshop info and catch up on everything that has happened, visit the creative journaling page. i do creativity workshops because i have found creativity to be an incredible force for my own healing, transformation and empowerment and i would like to share that with others. our creativity is our uniqueness, radiance and beauty, it is connected to our intuition and is a way to access the deepest and wisest parts of ourselves.
i am working on my creative energy generator this evening. it just keeps growing and growing. if you remember back to the original exercise, it was listmaking:
listmaking can be a powerful creative journaling tool. in this case, we are going to start with a list of everything that nurtures our creative energy and inspires our creative spirits. creating this list sets our intention to nurture our creativity more deeply in our lives. it helps us notice and remember all the little things we can do to nurture our creativity and gives us new ideas of things to try.
i think my list is finished now, here it is:
but the point of creative journaling is not to follow instructions, it is to explore with creativity. working on my list continues to lead me in new creative directions. at first i really noticed how i thrive when i feel nurtured, so on the other side of the page i created a nurturing creative fairy goddess:
then i added the creativity affirmations around her. but it still didn’t feel done. i turned the page and kept going:
and ended up with another creativity affirmation. this came from one of the first things i wrote on my list:
DOING IT even when i DON’T feel like IT!
i see how important it is for me to take time for creativity especially when i don’t feel like it. it’s the times when i don’t feel like it that i can most benefit from it. so i made this affirmation page as a reminder that my creativity is always available to me.
and i also made a little machine that is a creative energy generator. it’s hard to see the details in the photo because it has so much glitter that it confused the camera:
i really like it! and i am going to talk a bit more about it later…
and i am feeling like i have finished the create a creative energy generator exercise. these pages have a lot of energy for me, and i feel like i can look back on them when i’m not feeling inspired, and they will remind me why i do creativity in the first place.
