free creative journaling workshop is an ongoing creativity workshop that i will be posting here on my blog. you are welcome to join in at any time and follow along at your own pace. for complete workshop info and catch up on everything that has happened, visit the creative journaling page. ~ i do creativity workshops because i have found creativity to be an incredible force for my own healing, transformation and empowerment and i would like to share that with others. our creativity is our uniqueness, radiance and beauty, it is connected to our intuition and is a way to access the deepest and wisest parts of ourselves.
i have started working on the setting our intention for creative journaling exercise. so far all i have is the background. this is many many layers of paint, it kept changing colours and textures.
if you click on the photo, it takes you to my flickr photo page. then you can select “all sizes” and then “large” or “original” if you want to see it close up… it has a really interesting textures from all of these layers. this is something i really love about creative journaling, how the way i decorate the pages is symbolic of the ideas i am working with.
layers and layers of colours and textures and ideas. one interesting thing about this one is that for the first layer, i mixed together gesso, purple paint and chunky glitter, so the glitter is embedded right into the gesso. with all of these layers on top, a lot of the glitter doesn’t shine through, most of it shows up as textured bits. this is the way we can be sometimes, perfectly sparkling beings covered up with layers of fear and approval-seeking behaviours until that pure sparkle that we are becomes just a little textured bit in the personality we have created. creative journaling helps make these things more obvious to us and shows us the way back to our pure sparkling selves. ultimately this is my intention for creative journaling and i love how the background expresses that even though i was not trying to express that intentionally.
