creative journaling workshop: creating our self care relaxation chamber

creative journaling workshop: practicing extreme self care
sometimes any amount of self care can feel extreme.

let’s remember that those are the times when we need it the most.

creative journaling itself is an act of self care.  and when we journal about self care we open up new possibilities and options for self care in our lives.  i think of self care as the most important job we do.  when we are practicing self-care, we are able to show up in the world as thriving, creative, loving, open beings.  As thriving, creative, loving, open beings we bring with us enthusiasm, ideas, solutions, motivation, inspiration, and we make a difference.

right now the world needs more people who are actively engaged in their own self-care.  so this week’s creative journaling exercise is about self care.

we begin today by entering the self-care relaxation chamber.

here we can dive into self care.

here we discover what truly nourishes us and how we can better care for ourselves.

this mini guided meditation will guide you to your self-care relaxation chamber:

after your mini meditation, write out your self-care message in your journal.  if you didn’t receive a message know that you will receive it in the right time.

then create your self-care relaxation chamber in your journal.  you can create an image (or use a photograph) of yourself in your chamber, or focus on your favourite element of it.  you may want to incorporate the colours and textures of your self-care relaxation chamber into your journal page.  allow yourself to be inspired by the meditation and let that inspiration out into your journal.

mine was a decadent and luscious lavender bubble bath in the most beautiful lavender room.  i drew myself hugging myself while floating in lavender with nurturing words in my hair and my message on the bottom:

from my self-portrait journal: i practice extreme self care

you might also want to create a list of ways that you can practice self-care, or write out a commitment to take better care of yourself.

above all, know and remember that you are a precious and wonderful being and you deserve the joy, lightness and relaxation of self-care.

i would love to hear your self-care stories.

I love this post. You are so right-there have been times in my life when any self care felt extreme and somehow…shameful. Not sure how to express it. But I totally get how important this is. Thank you for encouraging others to explore self care.
