last january i taught a creative visioning creativity workshop. a big part of that workshop is looking at our whole lives, not just one part where we already have goals and dreams and aspirations, but to look at the bigger picture to create a life that is really full and inspiring in all areas. we did all sorts of meditations and visioning and creative exercises to really examine our preferences and our values to create a vision and a plan that would nurture our own unique hearts.
for me, travel is a key part of that. to go somewhere new, open up to it and really be inspired by it. i love learning about other cultures, i also find that travel and adventure nourish my creativity. so i asked myself – if you could go anywhere, where would it be?
no doubt – turkey.
so i found a friend who also wanted to go, and yesterday we booked our flight to istanbul, and then i started searching flickr for people’s inspiring istanbul photos.

just looking through these photos and planning my trip is really inspiring me.
adventure is opening up the doors and letting fresh new energy in.

How very exciting! The trip sounds fantastic and the photos are gorgeous! What an inspiring place for an artist to go!! I went to Mexico this summer and the arts and crafts really got me excited and wanting to try new things. You are right about travel awakening the creative impulses.
