I know exactly how you feel! When I was in a writer's group we called it the "Wolf" and he usually came
out at 3AM.
You might like what I wrote a long time ago.
I was almost asleep when a chill went across my body. my leg involuntariliy twitched. Too much stress?
No, some gnawing feeling was deep inside my stomach. My mind felt unresolved and warm breath was against my ear. He was here again, the night stalker, my wolf. He carried in his backpack all my regrets, fears and unsolved issues. I'll feed him with my prayers and give him water with my tears. In dawn's light he will disapear again, until the next time.
Keep your Wolf caged, and feed him with your strenght and you will tame him!!

You are doing some powerful interior work! It reminds me of the book, Taming your Gremlin, by Rick Carson. Have you read it? I am struggling with my inner critic and will take your suggestion and journal about it. Thanks!
