creative journaling: becoming who i am

by abccreativity on January 20, 2010

last week i shared this journal page in process.  since then, this page has been sitting half finished on my art table, like an open invitation.  and life was responding, bringing me some really beautiful opportunities to explore and express who i am becoming.  this week i have discovered a new sense of clarity which has made it easier for me to stay strong and speak my truth, even when it’s completely awkward and i’d rather just hide.

i look at what has been happening in my life and i am really quite happy and impressed with how i am showing up in the world right now.  clear, strong and open hearted.

so i took those feelings and added a new layer to this page:

creative journaling: becoming

i love this page, i love how it feels like who i am becoming.  i love that this part of me shows up a little more clearly each day.  i love the way journaling and creativity and expressing support me in flourishing in my life.

creativity + journaling = magic.

and so i am super excited to tell you about this new website i started!

www.ArtJournalWorkshop.com

from the “about/join” page:

i love all of the art journalers i see sharing their journals online and i want to see MORE ART JOURNALS!

so i created this site as a place where we can bring our journals together, share what we’re doing, learn from each other, meet new art journalers and all grow together in creativity and discovery.  i see this site as a bubble of art journal love.

creative journaling is a tremendous catalyst for healing, growth and transformation.  we actually magnify that power when we share our work in a creative community.

i see this as a workshop because i see openhearted, honest sharing as a powerful way of learning. i know that we are all teachers, because we all have wisdom and beauty within us.  and i also know that we are all students because we are all capable of learning and growing more each day.

this site is open to contributions from all creative journalers, all over the world.

how exciting is that?

very exciting.

this is open to all creative journalers of any kind.  your pages do not have to look professional or be happy or pretty or anything other than your real art journal pages.

let’s all celebrate the beauty of what we are becoming.

Hello Andrea, lovely surprise to have found your comment on my blog. This was my first SoulDiva, love to felt and I have just learnt to sew, so it’s still very new but also very exciting! I love your journal pages, very expressive! I am having a few block issues on ‘the’ page, mainly can’t find good pens to write over my paint, glue or pastels, so kinda leave pages blank. Will keep trying and enjoying the process, that is what it is all about!
