There's something new in my life... I volunteered to go to the hospital to have my pills about depression shorten.
It could be that I can't go to the overcrowded hospital but anyway I want to take less pills to feel more alive ! Should do this without being with nurses (I really got high quantity to shorten and a psychical lifelong pathology)

isn't it interesting how creative we can get with our time? i like to keep 2-3 projects in mind but i work on whatever feels the most inspiring in the moment. i do want to get a bunch of different things done, but feeling happy and flowing with my inspiration and creativity are really key for me.

Hi Pink,

Yeah, it's a hard call, because when you're really on a roll in one area, really getting stuff done, should you just stop and force yourself to move on to another area, where maybe you're not feeling as inspired? But then again, I really want to make sure that I'm making progress towards all of my goals. That's why I broke it down to my three most important goals to begin with. So that I could really focus my time and energy in the areas that were most important to me.

I like your ideas for trying to insure you give equal time to your goals each day. I've also thought about dividing my week into three 2 day blocks, and then during each block, I could focus on one of the three goals. That would give me two uninterrupted days to focus on each goal. Then maybe day 7 would just be a check-in day or a day to spend working on the goal that requires the most attention right now, or something like that. Not sure how to handle this yet! :o)

Thanks, Andrea!

Ginny, I have a hard time working on more than one project at a time too, and have been brainstorming possible work-arounds. In the coming week, I'm going to experiment with making sure I have either an appropriate To Do item or a specific block of time dedicated to each goal every day. That will help me avoid neglecting a goal. But to accomodate my tendency to plunge into one thing deeply, I'll also have a block of time in the evening when I allow myself to work on whichever project is inspiring me the most. Crossing my fingers that it will work for me. If you discover a good strategy, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm just using a notebook at the moment. I was going to use a day planner, but not enough room. But I did want something where I could record the date, what I accomplished that day, and then set my intentions for the following day. I found in the past, when I wrote about what I intended to do the next day in my journal, I was way more likely to actually DO it! LOL

My biggest issue right now is giving equal time to each of my three biggest goals for this year, which are:

To complete my romance novel
To license my art to at least one company
To get a contract for at least one illustration project

I find that I tend to get focused on one thing and spend all of my time working towards that, and end up neglecting my other goals. I've wondered if I should just give up and focus all of my attention towards one goal at a time, but I don't really like the thought of that! I want it all. LOL

What I've done recently towards my goals:

Romance Novel:
I created an outline from all of my notes, so that I know which scenes/plot points need to be in which chapter and roughly how many chapters I'm going to have.
I added several pages to the chapter I'm currently working on
I also worked on a query letter. Though I'm a long way off from needing one, it helped me to figure out the "hook" for my romance, and how I will promote it when the time comes.

Licensing:
Entered into a program to learn more about licensing
Doing research on the type of products I would like to license
Working towards creating a line to market

Illustration:
Submitted an illustration to "Illustration Friday"
Purchased two books on freelance illustration
Received high praise for my work from two of my favorite illustrators :o)

For my goal of taking better care of myself:
I purchased a Sonicare toothbrush. LOVE it!

Here it is-- http://pinkgargoyles.blogspot.com/2010/01/plannersuccess-tracker.html
I'm hopeful that I've created a system I can stick with. I considered buying a planner refill since we're still so close to the beginning of the year, but I have a history of using planners sporadically at best and elected not to spend the money.
