creating dreams come true: seeing your dream come true

Post image for creating dreams come true: seeing your dream come true

by abccreativity on February 7, 2010

it’s sunday – which means it’s creating dreams come true day. if you are new, please feel free to join in. the more creative dreamers the better!

this week we are in for a real treat – we’re going to do an affirmative visualization meditation.  affirmative meditations are like taking a bath in positive energy.  (i have a selection of them available on my meditation page if you want to learn more about them.)  visualization provides the opportunity to step into the dream come true, at least for a few minutes.  we can check out how it feels to live with the dream which can provide us with amazing information about our dreams that can support us in making them real easier and faster.

bringing affirmative meditation and visualization together creates a powerful tool for creating dreams come true.

how to do it:

i have the affirmative visualization meditation in video and .mp3 format, so you can work with it in whatever way works best for you.  it is quite simple – relax and listen to it.  (you may want to just listen to it once without closing your eyes or relaxing into a meditative state, just to be aware of everything that it says and make sure you are comfortable with it)  i speak in the first person so that you can relax into the words as though they are your own.

the visualization aspect is different for each person.  some people literally see imagines like there is a movie theater on their eyelids when they close their eyes.  others only get a general sense of the thing being visualized.  a great way to discover what your visualization style is, is to answer this question: “what colour are your bedroom walls?”  (if you are in your bedroom, choose another room) asking this question will bring your bedroom walls to mind.  however you are “seeing” your bedroom walls right now is how you will visualize your dream come true in this exercise.

know that there is no wrong way to do this.  spending the time thinking about your dreams in a positive way brings positive results.

here is the video with the dream fairy leading you through the meditation:

here is the .mp3 version:

creative dream assignment: try out this affirmative visualization meditation.  experiment with making it a part of your weekly or daily routine.  the more you work with it the better it’s going to work for you.   report back next sunday on how it went.

creative dream check-in:

meet in the comments section below to let us know how your celebration went!  also feel free to share any new updates, stories, successes or challenges relating to your dreams.

my check-in:

i had a quiet celebration – a day off.  from everything.  i gave myself a day to only do what i wanted to do and not feel like anything needed to get done.  i watched 3 dvds of battlestar gallactica, i ate popcorn instead of “real food”, did an hour and a half of yoga, knit, cleaned up the house (so much more fun when i want to do it instead of have to do it) and went to bed early.  it was really great to wake up the next day in my sparkling house, feeling refreshed and renewed.

i am feeling myself relaxing about a lot of things lately.   while my dreams still feel really super very important to me, enjoying the moment matters more and i am becoming more and more willing to move forward slower, and enjoy each step along the way more fully.  i really love this.

i am also really getting into yoga.  i have been doing it twice a day and i notice that not only am a feeling stronger, more centered and more energized as a result, i feel more inspiration flowing.  this is supporting me in all of my other creative dreams.  this is part of the beauty of creative visioning.  by taking the focus away from what i want to accomplish, and placing it on how i want to feel, i open up to new ways of allowing good things into my life.  in creating my map i used the words “energized” and “inspired” a lot, and doing yoga every day has created a ginormous influx of energy and inspiration.  it is so beautiful the way this works.

i look forward to reading your updates!

Hello Andrea

Well, I must confess to not actually having my ‘celebration’ yet – my babysitters were away last week, so Im saving it for a day in the not so distant future when I can really indulge myself without any responsibilities or time constraints!
However, one thing I am doing on a daily basis is celebrating myself, Im doing yoga every evening and the changes that Ive felt in just one week are amazing. I love this gift Im giving myself, just half to one hour each evening to energise and centre myself. I have noticed life slowing down, a deep inner calm that Ive not had in years (since last practising to be truthful, which was some years ago) Im paying more attention to detail and intuition is heightened. FLOW is my word for 2010 and at the moment it feels like life is this.

Thank you for the visualisation, I will be coming back to this when the Little Person is in bed, possibly after my yoga practice tonight!
Im glad to hear the yoga is working its miracles on you too by the way!

Much love
(Om Shanti)

I decided to also have a quiet celebration:

http://lion-art.blogspot.com/2010/02/celebrating-myself.html

It was what my instincts were telling me to do…and I carried it through the weekend. I agree…not HAVING to clean etc, but choosing to do it makes such a difference in the work itself!

So, I’ve come across links to your blog three times today…recommended by other artists I’d recommend in a heartbeat. But it’s been a busy day; for one thing, I’m running my weekly contest in which I highlight and giveaway one artist’s work. And this week, to try winning the painting that’s up for grabs, I’m asking people “what dream do you dare to dream?” So, imagine my delight when I finally come to visit you here tonight and realize you’re all about helping people manifest their biggest dreams. Serendipity, I love you so.

And I love your blog. Thanks for igniting the creative spark in so many people!

Hi Andrea and everybody,

Andrea, I am feeling super grateful for this e-course of yours right now. It’s the perfect companion for this year for me. I am dreaming things and doing things that I never would’ve imagined this time last year and this course helps me to appreciate all of that.

I only did the celebration today and it was perfect timing. I was feeling a bit anxious about not having made as much progress as I would like with my creative business dream. This exercise grounded me and reminded me to be appreciative that that dream even exists – honestly it’s amazing to think I wasn’t even painting a year and a half ago and now I’m creating a business. It’s ridiculous. My celebration was very small and simple. I stopped what I was doing, ate some strawberries with ice cream and watched a So You Think You Can Dance whilst contemplating all that has happened towards achieving this ridiculous dream.

Hello Andrea

your visualization is wonderful. I’m still full of hope (fueled with hope) for my dream coming true. Thank you so much. I posted my prayer of celebration in the section before.
