happy heart day

Post image for happy heart day

by abccreativity on February 12, 2010

some years valentine’s day seems pretty lame to me.  but this year i am enjoying it as a celebration of connecting more fully to my own heart, opening my heart more fully and falling deeper in love with myself, with my life, with everything around me.

celebration of hearts begins here and now

i am celebrating with a weekend filled with fun stuff – parties and outings with dear friends, yoga, meditation, art time, bubble baths, meditation, relaxation and play.

i will be enjoying every gorgeous love-soaked moment.

i’d love to hear how you are celebrating love.

I love your journal page! This valentine’s day I too am going to fill my weekend with love – going out with great friends, playing with my kids, and enjoying myself. This is actually the first time in a long time that valentine’s day feels so fabulous to me! I open myself up to all of the love I deserve and I give it freely. I am learning to love myself and valentine’s day just supports that even more for me this year!

Lots and lots of love to all! Happy valentine’s day!

Trish

1. Loving you for your inspiration and journal boldness. It inspires me and your words inspire me. Thank you!!!
2. Celebrating my 12th wedding anniversary, yes, on Valentine’s Day! Except my husband has to work so we are going to dinner tonight. We met on a cruise to the Caribbean in 1994. He was from Ohio, I from Michigan. We knew very quickly we were a match. He’s my sweetheart, best friend, cook and art lover too!
We are going to watch our wedding video and reminisce!
3. Sending valentine cards to my friends to tell them they are in my heart!
4. Just going to have to make some heartfilled journal pages too!
5. I’m going to get a bag of heart chocolates or kisses and pass them out tomorrow morning when I work in the Used Book Store at the library. Spread a little love . . . Yes Yes Yes!
Happy Happy Open Love to All!

For me, every day is like valentines day. Part of my daily meditation is an awareness of the gratitude I have for the love within my circle of family and friends .

i am celebrating love by being out in the beautiful summer weather we are having here in New Zealand – camping at the beach – right by the sea, under ancient trees, swimming and building sandcastles, drawing and reading ….i love this planet and i love my family and this is the way i celebrate love today

Thanks for firing me up to enjoy St. Valentine’s Day! It has been 33C here in New South Wales, very humid but beautiful, blue skies. Last night I had the enormous pleasure of lying in bed and looking through the window at the black night sky glittering with stars and the mist of the Milky Way. Heaven – literally! We – my husband and I – have had a great day visiting friends first off. We have both lost our little Jack Russell sweeties within days of each other so we gave each other big hugs and lots of love. Then my husband and I went to a New Age Fair which is close by the huge Macleay River and beautiful, beautiful countryside. It was too stuffy and hot to stay long, though, as the venue wasn’t air-conditioned but I did treat myself to a lovely Larimar pendant. Then we went to see a friend who operates a shop close by, she imports clothes and furniture from Bali. Great to catch up and I forced myself to treat myself to a lovely black kaftan with embroidered amber butterflies. It’ll go nice with my amber pendant and earrings. As it was St Valentine’s Day, the Little Black Thundercloud, aka my husband who is so NOT into crystals, Tarot at all, kindly agreed to be a bundle of sweetness and light as we made our way through the mind, body, spirit fair, so we had a good time. Well, I had a good time! Now it’s afternoon and very hot, so I’m just enjoying admiring my pendant and enjoying the cool of the air-conditioner. Hooray for modern technology.

we just hung out at the homestead. we watched a movie after i got home from church.

we exchanged valentine cards. mine were store-bought, but john made handmade ones for me, one from him and one from melanie (our 21-month-old daughter).

today in the unitarian universalist church it was “stand on the side of love sunday.” we had a minister come and preach about marriage equality. i realized listening to her speak that being bisexual and living in a heterosexual marriage, i felt like i’d lost part of my identity. plus i thought i was doing all i could for marriage equality (writing letters, being openly supportive in social networking sites, etc) but darcey challenged me to do a little bit more! did you know that in the US there are over 1100 federal provisions made for legally married couples that same-sex or unmarried heterosexual couples in states where there is no common-law marriage law don’t have? one thing i’m going to be doing is more research into what those actually are so when i advocate for marriage equality i know what i’m talking about.

Well, my Valentine to you, Andrea, is sharing this wonderful creative journalling of another artist, Lynne:
http://lynnehoppe.blogspot.com/ Hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

In truth, my day was blah, I slept in and didn’t do anything really. BUT, I did do a couple of things yesterday and today for people I love. Yesterday, I went to Safeway and bought a couple of their ‘extreme sale’ baby orchids ($5.99 – usually $7 more!). One will go to a dear friend who is suffering from an ailment. I also found a great recipe to make for her and her boyfriend (didn’t do it this weekend, because he has a test he needs to fast 2 days for, and I want to wait until she is in less pain). And yesterday, I also bought some asparagus, organic carrots & golden beets and went to my cousin’s. We had a lovely dinner with that and steamed brown rice, and then played a game of scrabble. I found out she loved those orchids (one is for ME!), so today I went back and bought one for her.

I have another friend I haven’t seen for quite a while: she has been suffering a lot from colitis, and hasn’t been going out of the house. Made a date to see her next Sunday. And when we arranged that, I repotted my tiny rare orchid into two pots, one for her. This orchid has tiny purple, very unspectacular flowers in appearance… but when in bloom, it smells EXACTLY like cinnamon!

Today I quit my part-time job. Working weekends with a full-time job for the past year has been at times very exhausting. I miss my family, crafts, cooking and all the fun stuff I like to do. The environment was not good. So today I decided to LOVE MYSELF and believe and trust that something better will come along or not at all. That is okay too! Happy Valentine’s to me!!!

Lee Ann February 15, 2010 at 3:45 pm

I have spent the weekend just being lazy. I have a hard time being good to myself during the down times so I’ve been trying to allow love in there. I’ve had a lot of awesome things happen in the past couple of weeks…including writing about my love for Edinburgh for an Edinburgh-Based website. This was huge for me since I was being vulnerable! Showing my deep love for a place to people who live there. So I kept reminding myself all weekend that this quiet time was a reward for all the work I’m doing with my dreams and a celebration of some results!
