and i had the most fantastic time!

first i went to istanbul, turkey.  then to cairo/giza egypt, then back to turkey to cappadocia – home of the fairy chimneys -  it was like walking around in a fantasy.  so much happened and i have so much to share but i am still being quite quiet and gentle and inwardly focused as i slowly return to my “real life”.

me and my friend in giza, egypt - squishing the pyramid

i have uploaded my photos to my flickr page if you’d like to see:

istanbul photos

cairo photos

cappadocia photos

and soon i will start sharing some stories and adventures.  and i want to check out what you’ve all been up to!   but today my body is taking its time adjusting to the time zone here and my head is fuzzy and i’m not doing very much at all.

while i was away, i was interviewed on the mixed grill favorites podcast by the lovely cindy jones latimeryou can listen to the interview here.

andrea! welcome home!! i just looked at your pictures. you have some beauties & i can’t get over them! my biggest travel i’ve done was to italy a few yrs ago, & the spread of art, yummy foods/drink, architecture, the simplicity of a beautiful door or gate, the landscape, etc. has been conjured up for me as i looked through your photos (& knowing how special/sacred the experience was…also knowing the jet lag & needed time to adjust..). oh my, the pyramids from a camel!..& on & on! thank you for sharing all this & i celebrate it with you! love to you now as you go easy & sweet fairies to you in your slumber. xo

Glad you’re back and can’t wait to listen to the podcast interview. I’m happy to see there is another artsy/crafty podcast in audio form. I love to listen while I make stuff.

Just looked through your photos and they’re beautiful. I would love to do a similar trip some day. Too brilliant of you to go just as the almond trees were blooming! It was the perfect counterpoint to the surreal stone landscape.
