{creating dreams come true} money

by abccreativity on March 28, 2010

i deserve the very best that life has to offer

it’s sunday – which means it’s creating dreams come true day. creating dreams come true is a free ongoing e-course and creative community to support you in living your dreams. if you are new, please feel free to join in. the more creative dreamers the better!

this week i want to talk about money.

your dreams may need money, or they may make money.  there is sometimes this judgment out there – if my dream is making money then it is “a success”.  but if my dream is not making money, or if it’s costing me money, then it’s “a failure”. ( i did talk about shifting our definition of success in an earlier creating dreams come true post.) sometimes when we’re caught up in whether or not a dream is making enough money, we lose sight of the real value and gifts that dream holds.  it is important to value our dreams for the gifts that they are, totally separate from any financial value they may or may not have.

it’s also important to be realistic about how much money you need to live your dream life, and to experiment with different ways that you can use money to support yourself in creating your dream life.

money is a powerful tool for creating.  i was able to go on my dream trip to turkey and egypt thanks to money.   and i get to live in my dreamy house, with an art room and a yoga room, painted and decorated just as i wanted it to be – again, thanks to money.

there was a time in my life when most of my dreams felt out of reach for me – mostly due to a lack of money.  money is energy and when there isn’t enough of it flowing through your life, everything feels harder.  and when you understand how money works and open up income streams and let them flow, everything feels easier.

i am starting to work on a new creativity kit called creative with money abundance kit.  so this is on my mind right now.  not only making that switch from no-flow to flow, but bringing creativity and positivity to our money lives and using money as a tool for creating dreams come true.

this week we’re going to take one step towards deepening our trust that money grows in our lives and bringing more positive creative energy into our money lives.

creative dream assignment: we’re going to plant money seeds.

(you’re going to need to use your imagination for this one.)

if you are a gardener this is probably quite simple.  if not, you may want to go out and buy a small plant to keep in your home as your “money grows in my life” symbol.  or if you feel adventurous – do try planting some seeds in dirt and see what happens.  (you can read some more detailed info on planting seeds)

thriving plants in my garden

thriving plants in my garden

1. choose your seeds: flowers, veggies, herbs – whatever feels fun and inspiring for you, or has a certain feeling of abundance

2. fill a small container with soil, make sure it was holes in the bottom.  (yogurt cups are good for this, just poke a hole in the bottom for drainage)

3. plant and water the seed according to seed package instructions while affirming “money grows in my life”

4. i like to create a mini-greenhouse by putting a clear plastic baggie over the pot, like a sandwich bag.  sometimes i use toothpicks to keep the bag propped up.  this lets sun and heat in and keeps the moisture in.

5. check in our your seedling daily, making sure the soil stays moist. checking in daily is also your daily reminder to affirm “money grows in my life”.

as the seedling begins to grow and turn into a plant, each time you see it, it is a reminder that money grows in your life.

i think i am going to plant some lavender seeds.  they can be difficult to germinate, but it will be so satisfying to have my own lavender-money plant growing in my house.

and remember if this is too much for you, you can alter the assignment.  you can buy yourself a small potted plant as your money plant, you can buy yourself a bouquet of flowers and remember to feel abundant each time you see them over the course of the week.  or you can create your own way of affirming that money grows in your life.  there is something powerful about buying yourself something as an expression of your continued abundance.

creative dream check-in:

meet in the comments section below to share what you learned this week about how committed to are to your dreams.

also don’t feel shy about checking in even if you didn’t do last week’s assignment. just say hello or let us know what is happening with you and your dreams – we love watching them grow.

my check-in:

i am really appreciating the way i am pulling back from some other activities and focusing more attention on my dreams.  it feels good to have this creative incubation space.

this week i felt fully recovered from jet lague, and i started sharing my travel journal and adventure stories on my blog.

i also started knitting a new sweater….

looking forward to your updates… happy dream day everyone!

Wishing all the love in the world to your grandmother. My hearth and thoughts are with you both

Sending love and light to you and your family. XOXO

I am very grateful, as always, for this week’s assignment. My trip to Dublin re-affirmed my goals and yes…New York is one of the things draining me…so getting out of town was essential.

ahhhhhh..love to you and your Grandma……..Grandmothers are sooooooo special! Hope that she is doing better!

Lee Ann (SavvyRogue) March 28, 2010 at 8:48 pm

First off I hope Grandma is okay. Please keep us posted. Well wishes are being sent your way.

Second I did my blog post for this weeks subject. The subject of money brings up a lot of feelings in my life. Right now we are hurting for it. Not having my job anymore and going to school full time has put a strain. But as they say “this too shall pass”. I know it will make our future comfortable.

Hugs!
Savvy.

your comments and love are really super appreciated.
my grandma is still the same and i am starting to see this time as a gift. while she is unresponsive i do believe a part of her is aware of what is happening, and aware that we are there with her. we can see these last days as a celebration of her life and her spirit.
