my ideas

are amazing.

i plant them

like seeds

and watch them grow.

i nourish

them

and they

nourish

me.

yesterday i declared him paper doll of the day on my facebook. (if we’re not facebook-friends yet, send me a friend request) even though i’m still all wrapped up in my healing cocoon and not really ready to face the world, i am remembering and appreciating the happy-excited feeling behind this paper doll.

i love that happy-excited feeling of planting seeds and ideas and dreams and watching them grow.

and i am thinking a lot about seeds these days. i did finally plant my abundance seeds, (i did go with lavender)  but i also planted a whole ton of flower seeds.  as i’d posted earlier on my big list of dreams my garden plan for this summer was to grow more veggies, especially cucumbers.  i was going to bring them to my grandma’s to pickle them with her.  now that she’s gone, pickling them on my own feels sad.  so i am filing up that part of my garden with my favourite annual flowers – i got a little indoor greenhouse and planted zinnia, sweet pea and dahlia seeds.

and already the zinnias are sprouting.

superb sprouting seedlings

i love love love growing plants from seed in the spring.  it’s so sweet to see the new seedlings pop up out of the earth each day.  such a gorgeous and perfect reminder that one day dreams do just pop up out of the earth too.  we plant our seeds and we trust that they are growing in the dark, beneath the surface, where we can’t see them.

just because we can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

and maybe things are a little dark right now because i’m the seed.  i’m sprouting and getting ready to break through.

i adore your paper doll (i love them all).
in 2009, i clearly remember feeling the seed life & having the exact thought
that i was close to breaking through the ground like a flower, verge of spring.
i say that to extend my seedling sister heart to you.
& ohhh, abundance seeds! just wow.
just love.

this is beautiful – the paper doll and the seeds.
We all need some time to germinate…
I know it’s a common complaint that we are all too busy in the modern world and our feet barely touch the ground.
Touching the earth is really important. I watch my 6 year old in the garden and he takes his time to really be present with every stone, stick and flower. He will talk to them or to himself and really engage.
Your posts have inspired me to buy some bright red geraniums I have been wanting but not getting for myself due to an idea of ‘lack’. I thought they were n’t so important but now I’ve pondered I think I feel the lack of them every time I walk past the spot on the doorstep where I want them to be.
