this week’s wishcasting wednesday asks: what do you wish for your relationships?
i remembered that i’d done some journaling on this a while back and it’s still true today:

i love having people around me that i can grow with.
what i wish for next in this part of my life is: more conscious creative entrepreneur friends to grow with.

Your journal page = gorg. I always have a hard time w deciding what it is I really want in relationships. And not really so much in romantic relationships, but in friendships. Friendships are just so deeply important to me…and I guess I have a hard time really defining what it is I want in them. I think this is why I skip from idealizing friend after friend, to being severely disappointed when they don’t turn out to be the “perfect” friend.
I think I’m going to take some time to journal about this..maybe it will help clear some things up for me

actually this journaling page is the inside cover of a journal i started specifically to explore relationships and figuring out what the heck i want! friendships are deeply important to me too but it can be so tricky to know what i want and then balance that with what they want and what actually works for everyone. what came from my journaling is a desire to be more open and look at my relationship to friendship itself instead of relationships with specific people. this allows people to be who they are (which they are going to be anyway of course) but still holds a space for me to have what i actually want.
I had to respond to this as my sister told me recently some deep truth about relationships.
She said ‘just take the best that the person has to offer, no one is perfect, no one. Forgive the things you dont like in that person, and love and appreciate the things you do’
I felt that was a very profound and mature statement, and affects everyone you meet, including intimate relationships as well as family, old and new friends and colleagues.
I am inspired to collage a picture in my journal on the maturity of relationships. Thank you.
