the map to my dreams come true
it’s sunday – which means it’s creating dreams come true day. creating dreams come true is a free ongoing e-course and creative community to support you in living your dreams. if you are new, please feel free to join right in. the more creative dreamers the better!
last week we talked about creating a dream plan. this week we are going to build on that. i said:
when we bring this all together – creativity, magic, intuition, wisdom, practicality and plan-making – watch out!
that’s powerful stuff.
besides being inherently practical and helpful, creating a dream plan helps to solidify our intention and clarify what it is we really want, what’s really in the way and what we are really willing to do to get to what we want.
i used the word “really” a lot there because the more we work with our dreams, the more they deepen and grow and change. and we discover that what we thought we wanted isn’t always “really” what we want. and it’s when we get clear on what we “really” want that the magic can come in and help us.
it’s like at first glance, our dream is really more of a fantasy. and that’s good. fantasies are very good and important. but the likelihood of a fantasy coming true is slim.
the process of creating a plan, or the way i do it – creating a map, filters the main elements of the fantasy into a dream. and a dream is achievable. sometimes though – the difference between a dream and a fantasy is difficult to feel. the dream is just more grounded than the fantasy. you may think you have a dream but really you have a fantasy.
so the process of creating a plan or a map helps us to switch any fantasy elements into dream elements.
and this makes it achievable. no more waiting and wishing. once you have a plan – you know what to do. you’re actively walking the path to your dreams. when you are actively walking this path, you’re generating flow and energy and opening up to allow the magic of life to swoop in help you flow smoothly along this path.
creative dream assignment: keep working on your plan
once you’ve got the beginnings of a plan, try to break it down as much as possible, into manageable steps. this way you are never stuck because you’ve always got ideas of what you can do to keep moving into your dreams.
sharing your plan really puts your intention out there and you may inspire others with your amazing ideas. and you may receive inspiration by other creative dreamer’s plans. when we share our dream plans we nourish each other.
creative dream check-in
also join us the comments below and let us know where your dreams are growing and flowing and where they’re stuck. also share any questions or ideas about your dream plan, or just say hello. everyone’s dreams grow more fully and beautifully when we grow them together in creative community.
my check-in:
well this was a fabulous week for me. there was a great article about me in the paper!
i’ve also finished settling into my new art room and did create the magnetic whiteboard wall i talked about last week. this is the perfect space for putting my plans where i can see them and stay on track with them. my new creative space inspires me and i am starting all sorts of amazing new projects. i’m going to get some photos and share more about my new art room soon…
and i started a business binder where i am storing anything and everything relating to growing my business, organised into sections. this is so awesome! i am creating systems and policies and plans for growth. up until now i’ve just had ideas swimming around in my head. organising them into this binder is really working for me. i’m also breaking it all down further and creating daily, weekly and monthly lists.
i am also making sure to get the business support i need. i joined the business oasis which is a part of heart of business. heart based business practices! yes! if your dreams involve having a business or making money from your creative works – do check out the heart of business site. lots of amazing information there.
i’m looking forward to your update and being inspired by your amazing dream plans…

Hello Andrea and the other creative dreamers
I’m glad to check in this week because my creativity was thriving : I took a drawing course and drew about 20 hours in the week ! I must say I’m exhausted.
I took the create a map kit too and I’m glad I did, the exercises (what about page 9 !!!) sparkle in my mind and it’s interesting to see that I’ve developped my map in a binder too, because I had too many project to detail it on the map so each project has now a part in the binder.
Andn after having drawn so much, I felt like writing again and gave a final polish to stories I submitted to “Calls after texts”.
Now I have to precise what I put in my binder… see you next time !
Hi Andrea,
I just had a massively enlightening conversation with my husband in which he pointed out that it’s all very well for me to sit and plan six different dreams at once…what I need to do is PICK ONE and actually DO the work. This is a huge thing for me. My life to date has been filled with so many “almosts”…tiptoeing to the edge of something and then running away to where its safe instead of plunging all the way in. And, for me, having so many ideas and dreams at once isn’t helping, it’s keeping me from actually having to DO any of them! I’m an air sign, and dreaming big has never been my problem, it’s following through that I falter at.
So this week I am going to sit down and pick ONE dream. And then I’m going to make ONE plan and put in the work to make it happen. That might sound limiting, but better to take action on one thing than to keep sitting and planning indefinitely, right? :-)
Congrats on being in the paper and on all the progress you’re making! Amazing!!!!!

hello scylliane. i’m glad the create a map kit is so helpful for you! i love the page 9 exercise too! congrats on all of the writing and drawing!
hello meg. that is enlightening! that is an important part of having an overall plan. we can only do one thing at a time, but having other dreams as a part of the overall plan means we are not putting them aside, it’s just not their turn yet. this way they continue to incubate instead of dry up. and when the dreams come from your heart, they will all nourish each other, so working on one nourishes the others too. and picking one dream to work on right now focuses all your energy on it – which gets things really moving! i’m looking forward to your update next week on how this went.
andrea…
it was good for me to read this post today. i have been out of town for a month and everything is a jumbled mess trying to get back to life and organize myself and 5 children. i NEED a plan. thanks for the inspiration.
chrissy
you are so welcome chrissy. i look forward to hearing how your plan works for you…
i love that you are creating a community of creative dreamers. that is my passion in life as well. i love connecting, sharing and growing together! happy week to you.
i love the amazing creative community here <3 happy week to you too.
I love the idea of a dream plan … I have my To Remember Book which lists my ideas/dreams/plans and then has pages devoted to breaking things down into steps and then pages of lists for the week. Still, I like the idea of one visual to glance at and Remember.
This week I am finishing up a painting campaign to raise money and awareness for orphans in China. My daughter and I are completing our 5th collaborative painting which is part of our month long giveaway. The response has been great and it has sparked some other Big Dreams that are in the seedling stage. Do visit on Friday to see our final Tiger painting!
I am getting up early and spending 1/2 hour doing a Morning Page in my art journal – part of Connie’s BIG course and am loving it! What a way to begin one’s day. I am just drinking in all the inspiration and support that is out there! Thank you for your heapin’ helpings of creativity goodness :)
