it’s sunday – which means it’s creating dreams come true day. creating dreams come true is a free ongoing e-course and creative community to support you in living your dreams. if you are new, please feel free to join right in. the more creative dreamers the better!
december is almost here and we are now in the process of looking back and claiming what we have done with our dreams this past year. this helps us to claim our dreams, claim our victories and move into 2011 with new dreams that absolutely gleam with possibility.
last week we looked at how brave we have been in facing our fears, this week we’re going to look at the times we didn’t even need to be brave because things happened much easier than we ever would have imagined they could.
this is important because it gives us more evidence that our dreams are within reach.
this helps us build an inner belief that when we take steps towards our dreams, we will be supported, things will line up for us. that it doesn’t have to be hard.
sometimes we are so caught up in believing that a dream is going to be really hard – we actually close off the possibility of it being easy.
it can be easy.
and sometimes as we take steps towards our dreams – things that once seemed hard start to seem easy. though at the same time, some things that seemed easy turn out to be harder than we thought. as we step onto the dream path – things change.
looking at what changed and what didn’t change can really help us to learn about our own personal creative dream process. and the more you know about your personal creative dream process the easier creative dreaming becomes.
creative dream assignment: make a list of what was different
so look back over your experience with creating dreams come true. what came to you easier than you thought it would? what was harder than you thought it would be? what was just different than how we thought it would be?
creative dream check-in:

I have a lot of examples for this week’s assignment! I’ll have to start thinking about all the examples and put them together in a blog post!!!
As for this week’s update…I’ve put together a post that covers the past two. “Looking Back and Facing Fears”
http://lion-art.blogspot.com/2010/11/looking-back-and-facing-fears.html
lee ann it’s pretty amazing to read that. thank you so much for sharing!
i am excited for when we are finished with all of these looking back exercises and can start putting them together into features to share with everything. that is going to be so inspiring!!! when we look at what we, the creative dreamers, have done in 2010 – we will really know that we can do anything in 2011.
It’s VERY inspiring! I was thinking about how I felt when I started…and now…everything feels so much more tactile and fluid. One of the biggest things I’ve learned, is to sometimes do nothing!!! After action…I mean…and the good stuff usually floods in as soon as I let go :)
I haven’t posted here in a while. Life is very busy at this time of year for me, as I know it is for most of us. I am taking it easy this week, recovering from wrenching my back out of alignment. Oh my, getting older is so much fun sometimes, isn’t it?? LOL
I took a look at the list of dreams I made at the beginning of this year. How many of those dreams have come true so far? Not many. But there has definitely been progress. I said I wanted to focus more on my writing, and I have been. I also said I wanted to finish my romance novel, but that hasn’t happened yet. But I have made a lot of progress towards that end, and now know exactly where my story is headed. I joined a critique group months ago and I have learned so much more about writing. The problem is, as it always has been, that if I focus on my art, there’s less time for writing, and if I focus on my writing, there’s much less time for art. :oP Still haven’t found a way to strike a better balance yet.
I said I wanted to pursue my dream of illustrating a children’s book with clay illustrations. I was contacted by an editor from a prominent publisher early in the year and offered a chance to show them some of my illustrations, but what that really showed me is – I’m not ready for this yet. I have much to learn still and I’m still determining whether this is REALLY something I want to pursue.
But what has happened in this area is that I’ve become very inspired to create illustrations with motivational sayings and create prints of them to sell. I love creating clay illustrations and I love writing inspirational messages, so this seems like a wonderful way to blend those two things. I’m very excited to start pursuing this idea once my holiday orders are completed and the holidays are behind us. ;-)
I said I wanted to create tutorials on sculpting to sell. I did create one. LOL So some progress there.
I said I wanted to take better care of myself and I’ve lost 20 lbs. so far. :o) More progress.
I think above all things, the list has shifted and changed. Pursuing certain goals has actually kicked off a desire for some newer, different goals. Some goals no longer seem as interesting or important, so those have gone on the back burner. Not gone, but not taking center stage at the moment.
Of course, nobody said all of these dreams or goals had to be accomplished by the end of 2010, so I’m going to keep on making progress. :-)
thanks for the update ginny! it’s so important to see that progress. no, there is no reason to think we have to finish in one year :) the creative dream path never ends.
